Panel Overview¶
The memsaver panel is located on the right side of the 3D viewport window. It is the main way
to access memsaver features. To access the side panel press the N key on your keyboard
and select the polygoniq
tab.
If you have multiple polygoniq add-ons enabled they will all be shown here
Warning
If you do not see the panel or do not see any panels at all, check that memsaver is enabled in Preferences → Addons.
Quick Overview¶
Let's briefly take a look at the various options here. We will go over more details on pages
dedicated to some of these features, consider this just a quick overview of what's possible
with the memsaver panel

Adaptive Optimize¶
Automatically resizes all target images and decimates meshes according to the set quality. Detailed information can be found in the Adaptive Optimize chapter.
Resize Images¶
Checks all target images and resizes them to the selected maximum side if they are bigger, more information can be found in the Resize Images chapter.
Decimate Meshes¶
Decimates all target meshes to the desired ratio, more information can be found in the Decimate Meshes chapter.
Revert Images to Originals¶
Reverts all resized images back to their original variant.
Revert Meshes to Originals¶
Removes the decimate modifier from all affected objects.
Check & Regenerate Derivatives¶
Checks all resized images and regenerates them from the original image if they are not available. This can happen if they were deleted or the cache path was changed.
Memory Estimation¶
Creates a report with the approximate rendering memory usage of each datablock in the scene from the currently open
file (Estimate This File
) or a chosen file/folder (Estimate File/Folder
).
You can also choose the format of the estimation report.
