Pictorial Wear Panel

The Pictorial Wear sub-panel is located in the aesthetiq panel. It groups several controls that you can use to create procedural damage to picorial assets in aestehtiq (like paintings and prints) in real-time to better fit your scenes.

The print tears effect simulates wear of posters and other prints over time, when exposed to enviromental conditions. For each object, the print tearing effect looks slightly diferent. Value of 0.0 means no damage, while 1.0 means only few whitened remains of the print are visible.

Paint Chips

The paint chipping effect simulates aging oil paint cracking into individual chips over time. For each object, the paint chipping effect looks slightly different. Value of 0.0 means no damage, while 1.0 means heavily damaged painting.

Use Colorize and Pictorial Adjustments in conjunction with Pictorial Wear

Aged paintings have not only structural damage - their color changes too. We recommend adding a slight brown tint with the Colorize feature, and gently reducing the saturation with Pictorial Adjustments feature. This will complete the 'aged painting' look.
