Paint Settings

Paint settings in traffiq are controlled via attributes that drive materials. This allows users to manipulate multiple parameters without the need to make assets editable. This saves memory and keeps .blend files small and efficient.

Parameters

Parameters are divided into:

  • UI accessible - color, clearcoat, flake amount
  • node group values - random color distribution, pearlescent color and blending, coating roughness, metallic, flakes size, flakes color, clearcoat roughness, coating normal strength

Info

Attribute-driven values are not visible as node group inputs but are inside the node group

Allows you to set color of your choice.

Warning

Pure white (1.0, 1.0, 1.0) is reserved for random color. Therefore, if you want to set an asset color white, it is recommended to use (0.99, 0.99, 0.99) instead. This ensures that the asset color remains consistent and avoids any unintended randomization.

This setting adjusts the color of the car paint to be randomized according to car sales data.

Clearcoat simulates the appearance of a protective layer or coating on a surface, adding a glossy and reflective layer.

the most realistic value is around 0.2

Metallic flakes are tiny particles of metal that are flat and reflective used to create a metallic sparkle effect.

You can set metallic flakes amount from 0 to 1. You can change their scale when you access the node group in material.

This setting adjusts the color distribution to be uniform instead of reflecting real world car colors. In other words with this enabled it is more likely to get vivid / pastel colors on the cars instead often common real world monochromatic ones.

Pearlscent color is an addition of a pearl-like effect to the car paint. The blending option controls the intensity of the effect.

It is recommended to keep the default roughness setting for the clearcoat, as it should work well for most car models.

This setting allows for the scaling of the voronoi flakes texture in the car paint material. Increasing the value will result in smaller flakes

tquv_bumps will not work properly, when the normal map will be turned off.

This setting controls the strength of small imperfections on the surface of the car paint.

Edit Multiple Assets

To efficiently modify the color of selected objects in Blender, first select the assets you wish to edit, then proceed to change the color of one of the selected assets in the selected assets list located in traffiq UI or modify all of them simultaneously by adjusting the color, clearcoat or flakes amount located below the selected assets list.
