Lights¶
Warning
Lights are currently supported only in the Cycles render engine.
Lights are not supported on every asset
Most traffiq assets have support for both headlights and taillights. However there are assets that do not have this functionality, usually it's assets where there are no lights in real life as well, such as rowboat, hot air balloon or traffiq signs.
Linked vs Editable Lights
Lights on linked assets will be parented under car meshes collection. Lights on editable assets will be parented under car meshes.
Control the Intensity¶
Once you have spawned an asset that supports lights and selected it, traffiq Light Settings
panel
will display the lights status of selected assets.
You can select any object that is child of the traffiq asset to enable lights panel
Select the desired light intensity and click Set
.
There are four standard light intensity settings available:
- off - no light
- park - soft light for parking
- low-beam - standard intensity while driving
- high-beam - long distance lights, that may blind drivers in opposite direction
Control Multiple Assets¶
You can also select multiple objects and control them together.
If you select multiple assets Light Settings
panel will display number of assets for each light
intensity. You can set the intensity for all selected assets at the same time using the Set
button.
Emergency Lights¶
Some of our assets have an option to turn on their emergency lights. These lights are disabled both in viewport and render by default but you can easily enable them and customize the number of flickers and their speed.
- Speed: How many seconds will pass before the color is changed
- Time Offset: How many seconds will the phase be offset from the start of the effect
- Flicker Number: How many times will the light turn on and off before color is changed
Change the strength of emergency light
The material controlling the strength is linked to all cars to maintain consistent values, if
you want to tweak those values you need to create copy of the tq_Emergency_Lights_Emission
material first.
Emergency lights functionality is only available, if the asset is converted to editable
Tweaks to Emergency Lights affect only the active object
Other selected objects will not be affected.
