Vine Generator¶
Add and draw vine to your scene. Vine Generator
allows you to add vine to walls and other
surfaces.
Spawn Vine Generator¶
Vine Generator
is spawned using engon Asset Browser
by using the engon Panel
or E key.
You can filter by Geometry Nodes filter. Get more information about Spawning Assets.
Draw Vine¶
You can easily create your own vine, or modify the shape of the default one, using Blender's Draw
Tool. To make these changes, make sure you are in Edit Mode
.
Vine Generator Properties Panel¶
To modify Vine Generator
head over to Modifier Properties Panel
in Blender. Make sure that
the vine object is selected. Here is a quick explanation of every feature in Vine Generator
.
Leaves Collection¶
Leaves Collection
specifies collection for particle system used for leaves that are spawned on the
stem.
Stem Material¶
Stem Material
is used to change material of the stem.
Target Object and Target Collection¶
Target Object
defines an object that is used as a parent of the selected vine. When the object is
selected, the vine will follow the shape of the object and remain snapped to its surface.
Target Collection
makes it possible for the vine to be snapped to multiple objects in a selected
collection. The vine will automatically snap to the closest object from the collection based on the
distance between the object and the vine.
Merge Distance¶
Merge Distance
is used to control the minimal distance needed for two segments of vine to
connect. It also downsamples the curve object. This reduces the amount of segments per curve. To
combat rough transitions in stem, make use of Curve Subdivision
.
Stem Resolution¶
Stem Resolution
sets the number of vertices used to generate the shape (cross-section) of the
stem. Higher number of vertices means smoother stem shape but worse performance.
Curve Subdivision¶
Curve Subdivision
adds subdivision to the curve object used to generate the stem, smoothing
the shape and flow of the stem curve.
Stem Thickness¶
Stem Thickness
modifies the thickness of the stem, specifically the radius of the stem.
Leaves Density¶
Leaves Density
changes the density of leaves in percentage coverage of the stem.
Min Scale and Max Scale¶
There are two properties affecting the randomized scale of leaves. Min Scale
affects the minimum
scale of the leaves, Max Scale
sets the maximum scale of the leaves.
Scale Leaf Towards Tip¶
Scale Leaf Towards Tip
affects the scale of the leaves closer to the tip of the vine branch,
simulating growth.
Cast to Target¶
Cast to Target
enables or disables snapping of the vine to Target Object
or Target Collection
.
Target Object
or Target Collection
has to be set for Cast to Target
to work.
Angle Threshold¶
Angle Threshold
sets the maximum angle the leaves rotate when snapping to an object.
Target Object
or Target Collection
has to be set for Angle Threshold
to work.
Normal Orientation Distance Threshold¶
Normal Orientation Distance Threshold
is an option which rotates the particles around the normals
of an object.
Target Object
or Target Collection
has to be set for Normal Orientation Distance Threshold
to work.
Rotation Sky Influence and Deviation Sky influence¶
To change the influence the sky has on the rotation of individual leaves make use of these options.
Rotation Sky Influence
modifies the angle of leaves, rotating them towards the sky. Deviation Sky
Influence
slightly diverts the rotation of the leaves from the sky.
Alternate Leaves¶
Alternate Leaves
is an amount from which the leaves spread away from each other so every second
leaf gets rotated to a direction opposite the previous one.
Seed¶
Seed
modifies the seed - spawn location, size and rotation of the leaves on the stem.
